Hanneke's star is also rising. Exhibitions at home and abroad follow each other in quicker and quicker succession. Hanneke trained at the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming Tilburg in 1990 and has a passion for figurative art. Her brush always tells stories that reflect her surroundings. About three years ago, she started daydreaming about colourful fairy tales with vibrant textures and shades that radiate harmony and joy. And so began her colourful adventure! Her work always has a narrative element, but her latest pieces have a twist: an abstract underlay of cheerful patterns in acrylic paint. On this, she paints mostly female figures, sometimes lush interiors that merge with the colour layer underneath. Her goal? To create a mix of serenity, mystery and richness, both in story, shapes and texture.
