But it is important to be able to see a work of art in person before buying it for several reasons.
Images do not always come across correctly on the website or in the portfolio, although I should mention that most websites have high quality images.
Works of art evoke a certain emotion when you stand in front of it, this is because you have a pure picture of the artwork's structure, representation and colours.
Estimating a size is difficult when you see it on a website.
The size may disappoint when you see the artwork in person.
So the perfect route to buy an artwork is, view the artwork on a website and follow the artist whose work you would like to buy.
If you are out of this come to the gallery to see the artwork in person.
Visiting a gallery or an artist's studio is a bit scary for many people.
As a gallery owner and artist, I understand this, the thought is often I am a layman and as long as I don't ask stupid questions.
Or I don't understand art at all.
In short, the threshold is high, but this is really not so.
